Description
The P-47 was one of the most famous U.S. Army Air Force fighter planes in World War II. Although it was originally conceived as a lightweight interceptor, it became a heavy fighter-bomber. The Thunderbolt served in almost every war theater. Used as a high-altitude escort fighter and a low-level fighter-bomber, the P-47 quickly gained a reputation for its ability to continue fighting while absorbing severe battle damage.
- Kit consists of 428 parts on 17 sprues, plus metal and photo etched parts, and a film instrument panel.
- Markings included for 42-72542 62nd FS/56th FG, Halesworth, Feb 1944 & William Dunham, Southwest Pacific 1943.
- Completed model measures over 13-1/2″ long w/wingspan of over 15″.
